THE ELDER WISDOM PODCAST SERIES
THE MISSION
I want you—the viewer or listener—to experience being with an Elder firsthand.
Because nothing teaches better than direct experience.
The difficulty is that no two Elders are alike.
As you grow older, the gift of aging is that you increasingly give yourself permission to become more fully yourself. ‘A one-and-only.’
You compromise less. You stop auditioning for roles you never wanted. You discover that the people you were trying to impress stopped watching you years ago.
You can read about Elderhood. You can study the qualities of an Elder. You can collect definitions until your bookshelf collapses.
You can even ask your knowing-all AI, but being in an Elder's presence is different.
You can feel it.
The conversation slows down.
The listening deepens.
Something opens in you.
You begin to see yourself, your life, and what might still be possible from within a larger field—an Elder’s expanse.
Why do I consider this mission-critical?
Because right here, right now, we are living through a profound wisdom deficit. A costly and damaging wisdom shortage.
We have more information than any civilization in history—and far too little understanding of what it means, what truly matters, and what we are responsible for now. We have little real consideration for the future.
We have become very skilled at finding answers. We are considerably less skilled at asking questions worthy of answering.
Elders remind us of who we are beneath the titles, roles, achievements, failures, and carefully maintained biographies. They remind us that a human life is not measured only by what it accumulates, but by what it contributes.
The Elder Wisdom Podcast Series exists to make Elderhood visible, audible, and—most importantly—experiencible.
These are not simply conversations about Elders.
They are opportunities to be with one.
And perhaps, in that encounter, to recognize the Elder waiting to emerge in you.
LISTENING INSTRUCTIONS
Do not listen only for information. Most information has a short shelf life. It enters through one ear, visits briefly, and leaves without forwarding its address.
Listen instead for what resonates. When it feels like a fit.
Some of you will be present in each guest’s responses—an Elder part that may have been quiet, hidden, or waiting for permission to speak.
When you hear it, something inside you will say:
That is true.
I know that.
That belongs to me.
That is the keeper.
Each guest has become an Elder in their own way, on a path that was rarely straight and never fully paved. Each serves a higher purpose without deceiving themselves about the realities of growing old.
Wisdom has heavy tuition. These people have paid for it through failure, loss, disappointment, responsibility, forgiveness, love, and occasionally learning the same lesson several times because once was apparently insufficient.
Their wisdom does not eliminate chaos, uncertainty, threat, or loss of control. It changes how they stand within them.
It allows them to hear the deeper truths about who they are and how life actually works. It enables them to meet the forces of aging and ageism with greater peace, grace, courage—and, when all else fails, a reliable sense of humor.
So, listen beneath the words.
Listen to the presence surrounding them.
Listen to your experience as they speak.
Listen for what awakens in you.
Because these conversations are not merely to introduce you to an Elder.
It is to introduce you to your Elder self.
The world does not need more people who are merely growing old.
It needs Elders.
And one of them may be listening right now.
